OOC Age Range (Optional):
18+
Activity Scale (How many days a week do you play on average?):
Lately as MazeRP has resurged, I've been on daily for at least a few hours a day.
Timezone and availability:
MST (GMT -7), I'm usually available in-game on the weekdays during the evening and night, and available on discord from morning to night throughout the entire week.
Do you have any punishment history on RoleplayHub (SchoolRP, MazeRP, or Creative)? If so, please state your punishments:
I have one warning on SchoolRP from around 2022.
Do you understand that the Keeper role is solely an in-character role, and that its permissions can only be used for in-character purposes? (Yes/No):
Yes
What experience do you have with roleplaying?:
I've been roleplaying since I was 11, though I only really picked it up in a more novel and caring style in 2017. A majority of my time roleplaying has been spent in serious Medieval-Fantasy genres on Minecraft and many other genres on discord alike. I found and moved to RPH in September of 2019 and ever since my writing has greatly improved through the people I have met.
What is your motivation for applying for Keeper?:
My motivation stems from my desire to find more and more scenarios to throw my characters into, to force them out of their shells and make them shine whether it be positive or negative. Not only this, but ever since I began playing MazeRP shortly after its revamped release, I have always wanted to be part of its growth. It struggled greatly in the beginning and I have always tried my best to educate and introduce roleplay and rules. This will of course reflect in why I am applying as I wish to kick this new feature off in as compelling of a way as possible.
IC (In-Character)
Character Name:
Keith Whitlock
Character Age:
22
Please give a brief description of your character’s personality:
Keith is a rough and gruff man with a cold demeanor. Often described as aggressive by strangers and utterly reliable by his allies, he is a complex man whose only savior from the implications of the maze's existence is his 'survival man' attitude. Being one of the older maze inhabitants gives him a great sense of responsibility over them, especially due to the Glades' constant issues with violence and theft. He's ruthless and to the point.
Tell us why your character would be a great pick for this leadership position:
The Baggers are a group of people meant to be their strongest, their best. The ones capable of commanding a room and dealing with opponents from Grievers to their own. Keith can do that ten times over. On his first few nights in the Glade, he threw himself out of the Homestead during a Griever raid and returned to the Med-Jacks with a spear covered in its fluid. A first kill that cemented him as a Bagger.
Since then the man has been a valuable asset, making great use of the pit whenever others got far too rowdy for words to work. His greatest feats, among his first kills, are his valuable efforts alongside the Med-Jacks. With them he proved his detective abilities to root out thieves, prevent a Brick-Nick from building a bomb and saving many from their would-be fates. Every failure is one he takes personally and buries deep down.
Over the months he spent with Rick and Jace, he climbed his way up the ranks to being a trusted Bagger, one that the two would call on the most when needing aid with those causing problems. His navigation of the maze is rusty, but his perseverance within it is unmatched.
As for his truer leadership capabilities, he has shown that through voice alone he can quiet a room or push a group into motion on a single task. A cunning man with a sharp mind who is, surprisingly, capable of hearing others out despite his anti-social attitude.
Of course, strength and intelligence isn't all that he offers. One task he takes very seriously, above all, is the documenting and burial of all who die. A seemingly secondary duty of Baggers as a whole is that he has helped the Med-Jacks with plenty. Having Keith as a leader would be an asset to the Glade and a step closer to bringing it back together.
What activities would you host for your job members?:
A Baggers job is more of a routine than anything specific, however they must be kept sharp like an axe for firewood. Preparedness is the main concern so weekly activities to hold training and morale boosting sports for both IC and OOC motive to keep everyone going.
Boredom is a folly of man and thus the Baggers should not be left to sit and wait nor should they throw themselves into the Maze to satiate it. Thus, group activities are a necessity.
My best ideas, off the top of my head as I write this, are regular training sessions that are as unique as possible and sports to keep everyone fit. Who wouldn’t want to toss a cow skinned ball with friends?
How do you see your job and its role in the Glade?:
With all of the various jobs working to satiate the domestic needs and the Runners dedicated to a way out, the more animalistic needs of each Glader are taken care of. So, with everyone fed and having a roof, boredom becomes an issue. With boredom comes trouble, and trouble is plentiful within the Glade. From brawls to Greenies thinking they can take on a Griever all alone, the Bagger is an essential role for keeping the peace.
They are the word of 'law' in the Glade as it becomes less of a prison and more like a home to the residents, many of which of all but forgotten they are trapped. They are first, and last, defense the Glade has when the gates don't close at night. Without Baggers, the Glade would lack order.
As a Keeper, you will have authority over Gladers. How would you react to these hypothetical scenarios?
When sanctioning other Gladers, what would make the difference between an oral warning, the slammer, and banishment?:
Despite the role of a Bagger being akin to police, much of the Glade is rooted in it’s rowdy and gruff crowd type, from their fights in the pit with loud cheer to drunken stupor. Thus, the differences between these scenarios is different to how some might think.
With this, and my character, in mind; an oral warning would be carried out quite simply, either in private or in public as it necessitates, typically depending on if it’s domestic or affects the whole of the Glade.
The slammer, or pit, is a punishment not to be taken lightly. A few days locked up may seem like nothing until you are met with a complete lack of free will. Keith is, as stated previously, cold and thus will do what is to be done no matter the pleas. Not that he isn’t occasionally sympathetic, offering amenities to those not deserving of cruelty.
Banishment is serious for Keith. Those who are banished are always deserving, the worst of the worst. Murderers, thieves, harassers and all other manners of personal cruelty committed by the Glader in question. They are shown no mercy, no kindness and no final requests. Dragged to the very reaches of safety and cast out by their former ‘friends’. This is how Keith disposes of them under the watch of the other Keepers.
A Glader has been stealing from the storage, how do you react?:
Storage theft isn’t new, something he has heard over and over. The thief is tracked, cornered or chased, and brought down at all costs by Keith or the Baggers at his disposal. With a firm hand, he guides them to return what they have left of the stolen goods and punishes them accordingly with the slammer. Taking from others when everything is given so freely is unacceptable.
A Glader has been giving precious resources to the Banished, how do you react?:
One of the worst things a seemingly well-intentioned Glader could do. The Banished are there for ostracizing themselves in extreme degrees yet a sad soul has pitied them or felt they themselves were spit on for this action. No matter their rhyme or reason, it’s unacceptable and punished harshly. A callus man threatens to make them join their new ally before an indefinite slammer time while the other Keepers are summoned to make their call.
Any additional notes: N/A
